As a self taught bag maker my style is informal and relaxed. I simply don't know the 'proper' rules but have happily been making it up as I go along since I started sewing seriously a few years ago. And when I say 'seriously' I don't mean it, sewing is meant to be fun, relaxing and a great way to be creative. 

Sewing bags removes all those tricky issues around fitting that you get with dressmaking. Quite simply, bags fit anyone. The results are often gratifyingly speedy and you still get that lovely smug moment when you can say to your friends "Oh this bag? I made it myself ..."
