Bag Making Workshops...
So you have a sewing machine, but you thought making 'proper' bags required a heavy duty model and a textiles degree?
Absolutely not ... if you have a decent domestic sewing machine and can thread it and sew a straight line, you can make a bag. If you can sew a curved line, then you'll be an expert in no time!
Don't be intimidated - join us and have a go!
As a self taught seamstress myself my style is informal and relaxed. I simply don't know the 'proper' rules but have happily been making it up as I go along since I started sewing seriously a few years ago. And when I say 'seriously' I really don't mean it, sewing is meant to be fun, relaxing and a great way to be creative.
Sewing bags removes all those tricky issues around fitting that you get with dressmaking. Quite simply, bags fit anyone. The results are often gratifyingly speedy and you still get that lovely smug moment when you can say to your friends "Oh this bag? I made it myself ..."
If you or a group of friends would like me to organise a private workshop just for you, please get in touch via email to hole.house@hotmail.com.

At the workshop you will be given one of my own bag patterns. This is yours to keep and intended for your own use at home. If you are planning on taking the course to learn how to make bags to sell, I am happy to consider allowing use of my patterns, as long as I am informed first and credit is given on each bag made. Thank you.
