Zips for Purses - a little guide
If you have just started sewing, or even if you haven't, its easy to feel a little baffled by the various methods of inserting a zip into a purse or pouch. There is more than one way of course and if you don't know where to start, this guide may help. Even if you are a seasoned stitcher, sometimes its nice to have all the information in a handy reference guide.
The guide goes right back to basics, with a glossary of terms and suggestions in the text for places to buy your essentials. Also included are:
- How to draft and cut your pattern pieces.
- How to attach a zip pull to continuous zip tape.
- 3 methods for sewing a zip into a zipped purse, including the 'Butler' method.
- Lots of 'tips' throughout explaining all the little tricks that I've found really help people during workshops to get a professional finish.
The 21 page text is fully illustrated with photos.
If you have just taken up bag making, or are thinking about it, this will be an excellent starting point from which so many bags can be made.
Please note: the guide is in pdf format which you will be able to download after purchase. There is no specific pattern for this one as you can make your purse as big or as small as you like!
